Ukraine has financed only a quarter of the necessary funds to prepare for winter

Ukraine has allocated about $1.7 billion of the required $6.2 billion for winter preparations. TASS reports this with reference to data from the country's Cabinet of Ministers.

Thus, Kyiv financed approximately a quarter of the stipulated amount. About $1.5 billion of these funds were allocated by the state budget, the remaining $200 million by local budgets.

As the agency notes, the volumes of commissioned and restored electricity generation in Ukraine are also significantly behind plans - since March of this year, only 1.8 GW of the planned 6 GW have been commissioned.

In addition, Ukraine does not have time to accumulate the required volumes of gas - at the end of August, only about 72 percent of the required volume. Taking into account the replenishment of gas reserves from its own sources, Kyiv will need about one billion dollars more to purchase additional volumes on foreign markets.
