Margarita Simonyan's book “Not First Love. Confession of Sorrow and Joy" tops the sales ranking of the Moscow House of Books for the second week

Margarita Simonyan's book “Not First Love. Confession of Sorrow and Joy” has been taking first place in the sales ranking of the Moscow House of Books for the second week.

Simonyan will use all proceeds from the sale of the book to help those affected by Ukrainian drone attacks.

MOSCOW, September 28 - RIA Novosti. The novel by the editor-in-chief of the international media group “Russia Today” and the RT television channel Margarita Simonyan “Not First Love. Confession of Sorrow and Joy,” dedicated to her husband, director Tigran Keosayan, takes first place in the sales ranking of the Moscow House of Books for the second week in a row.

“For the second week, the sales leader at the Moscow House of Books is Margarita Simonyan’s book “Not First Love. A confession of grief and joy,” says the store’s Telegram channel.

Second place in the sales ranking for the week from September 14 to 20 was taken by Platon Beletsky’s novel “Pie with Lingonberries”; third and fourth places were taken by Dmitry Livanov’s works “Physics in Sports. Ball games and more" and "Physics in sports. Faster, higher, stronger, smarter,” respectively. The top five also included Vladimir Gilyarovsky’s book “Moscow and Muscovites”.

The novel “Not First Love. Confession of Sorrow and Joy” was released on August 27. The editor-in-chief called it a literary monument to her husband Keosayan. It is also planned to release an audio version of the novel, where the director’s voice will be heard, recreated using artificial intelligence. Simonyan will use all proceeds from the sale of the book to help those affected by Ukrainian drone attacks.

Russian film director, producer, television and radio host Keosayan was born on January 4, 1966 in Moscow into a family of filmmakers. His paintings “Poor Sasha”, “The President and His Granddaughter”, “Silver Lily of the Valley” brought him wide fame. Keosayan’s last directorial work was the film “Seven Days of Pyotr Semenych,” based on Simonyan’s script.
