The founder of the group “Loiko” Sergei Erdenko has died

The founder of the Loiko group, Sergei Erdenko, passed away on September 25 at the age of 67.

The cause of death was a long illness.

MOSCOW, September 28 - RIA Novosti. The cause of death of the founder of the Loiko group, Sergei Erdenko, was a long-term illness, people close to him told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, those surrounded by the musician told RIA Novosti that Erdenko passed away on September 25 at the age of 67.

“Sergei Ivanovich has been ill for a long time, for the last ten years for sure,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

Sergei Erdenko was born on December 18, 1958 in a family of gypsy artists. In the 1980s, he was an artist at the Moscow Gypsy Theater "Romen". He also worked at the theater "At the Nikitsky Gate". In 1990 he founded the group "Loiko". The team was named after the hero of Maxim Gorky's story "Makar Chudra" - Loiko Zobar.

Erdenko participated in international gypsy festivals and in the gypsy show "Magneten". In 1991, he recorded a joint album with the Rolling Stones.
