Football club "Rostov" and head coach Jonathan Alba have ceased cooperation

Football club "Rostov" and head coach Jonathan Alba have terminated their cooperation by mutual decision. This was reported by “Championship” with reference to the club’s press service.

Along with the 44-year-old specialist, the entire coaching staff left the team. The management explained the decision by saying that Alba combined work in Rostov and in the Russian national team. The club considers it necessary for the coaching staff to be fully focused on solving the team’s tournament goals.

After nine rounds of the RPL, Rostov is in 12th place with eight points and two wins. The team will play the next match at home against Akron Togliatti. The club will announce the name of the new head coach in the near future.

Alba has worked for Rostov since 2018, starting as a coach-analyst. He became the head coach in February 2025 after Valery Karpin focused on working with the Russian national team. Since 2021, the Spaniard has been part of the national team's coaching staff.
