Fenerbahçe's team bus was attacked in Trabzon: 105 years in prison requested for 5 people

A statement was made by the Trabzon Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the armed attack on the Fenerbahçe football team's bus in Trabzon in 2015.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that an indictment was prepared against 5 people and that they committed "crimes of attempted intentional murder against 39 people and damage to property of the bus owner."

The statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is as follows:

"The investigation carried out by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in the light of new evidence regarding the armed attack on the bus carrying the Fenerbahçe Sports Club football team on 04.04.2015 has been completed.

The evidence obtained within the scope of the investigation, HTS and base station records, criminal investigations, forensic medicine reports and other findings within the scope of the file were evaluated together and an indictment was issued against 5 suspects.

In the indictment; It was evaluated that some of the suspects followed the route of the team bus and announced its arrival, while other suspects opened fire with a hunting rifle as the bus passed.

In the attack, the bus driver was injured in a life-threatening manner, and the football players and technical staff members on the bus were affected by the attack; Material damage occurred to the bus, which was in danger of an accident due to the injury of the bus driver.

Considering that the suspects committed the crimes of attempted intentional murder against 39 people on the bus and damage to property on the part of the bus owner, as a participant, they were subject to Articles 82/1-a, 35, 44/1 and 151/1, pursuant to Article 37 of the Turkish Penal Code. "It was requested that they be punished in accordance with the articles."
