Hakan Bahçetepe was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison

An indictment was filed against 9 defendants, including Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hakan Bahçetepe, who was arrested and suspended from his duty within the scope of the investigation carried out on the allegation of "corruption" against Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality. In the indictment, it was requested that Bahçetepe be punished for taking bribes, laundering property values ​​resulting from crime and acquiring illicit property.

THE DECISION HEARING WAS HELD

In the ongoing trial at the Istanbul 10th High Criminal Court, the trial prosecutor submitted an opinion between the sessions and requested that Bahçetepe be punished for the crime of "taking bribe", acquitted of other crimes and released.

6 YEARS 3 MONTHS IMPRISONMENT FOR BRIBERY

At the hearing held today, the defendants' defense statements were taken against the opinion on the merits. Announcing its decision after the defenses, the court sentenced Bahçetepe to 6 years and 3 months in prison for "taking bribes". The court decided to release Bahçetepe under judicial control measures in the form of house arrest.

Bahçetepe was acquitted separately of "illegal acquisition of property" and "laundering of criminal assets". It was decided that Bahçetepe would be banned from civil service for 2 years and 11 months as of the finalization of the decision.

AZİZ İHSAN AKTAŞ WAS NOT PUNISHED

It was decided that there was no need to punish businessman Aziz İhsan Aktaş on the grounds that he benefited from effective remorse for the crime of "bribery".

6 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR BAKİ AYDÖNER

Gözde Bahçetepe and Aziz Lal were acquitted of the crime of "laundering property values resulting from crime". Former CHP Party Assembly Member Baki Aydöner was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison for "intermediating the crime of taking and giving bribes".

PUNISHMENT OF OTHER DEFENDANTS

Erdal Celal Aksoy was sentenced to 5 years and 10 months in prison for "taking a bribe". Gürkan Dölekli was sentenced to 7 years, 9 months and 22 days in prison for "bribery". Özer Ayık was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison for "bribery". Seza Büyükçulha was sentenced to 7 years, 9 months and 22 days in prison for "intermediating the crime of receiving and giving bribes".
