Gold Claims at the Wedding of the Phenomenal Couple and MASAK Report

The trial process against the couple began upon the allegation that approximately 43 million lira of gold was worn at their wedding. The Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) examined their source.

In his statement, Mehmet Fatih Tançalan claimed that the gold worn at the wedding was for rent and that they returned it to its owner after the wedding. However, Çağla Öz denied her husband; He claimed that the jewelry, which was claimed to be for rent, was purchased:

"We had an engagement in Istanbul on May 10, 2026. During this engagement, Mehmet Fatih gave me a necklace and 2 cuff bracelets. The crown and belt were jewelry borrowed from the jeweler and were later returned to the jeweler. The necklace and two cuff bracelets were taken away by Mehmet Fatih and his family. Even though Mehmet Fatih stated in his statement that all the jewelry was for rent, I know that it was purchased."

The phenomenon bride claimed that the two gold cuff bracelets and Calcutta necklace worn at the wedding were engagement jewelry; He claimed that the crown, belt and chain were gold worn for rent in return for advertising.

Öz claimed that all the jewelry was taken from her after the wedding and that she learned from the news that the bracelets were imitation.

Explaining that the report of the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) Presidency stated that he had a standard of living equal to the minimum wage as a result of his self-declared profit of 1.1 million lira since 2020, Öz argued that his accountant dealt with these matters and that he had no information about whether he duly reported his profit declarations to the finance office.

Claiming that no unidentified money came to his account and that there was no money laundering situation, Öz claimed that the money transfer of 1.5 million lira between him and his wife in the MASAK report was related to debt exchange.

Öz argued that he sent 5 million 200 thousand lira to his mother for her needs in 221 transactions, and 6 million 69 thousand lira in 303 transactions was his own money that he sent to his mother to save and received back when he needed it.

Explaining that his wife could not use her own accounts due to the alimony case and that she sent him money from the account of her relative M.S.T., who was arrested yesterday within the scope of the investigation, Öz claimed that the 644 thousand liras sent from the account belonging to M.S.T in the MASAK report was related to this.

Stating that he did not accept the allegations in the MASAK report and that he had legitimate earnings, Öz stated the following claims:

"I think such a claim and determination was made against me because of my wife's profile and image on social media. My whole life was like this until now and was in the public eye. However, after my wife came into my life, such a black money allegation was made against me. Since the advertising value of the videos we share on social media is high, companies want to sponsor them. Although my wife claimed in her statement that I was using her social media account and making the posts, I was only editing her posts. I was not involved in the content of her posts."

Öz claimed that an unpaid amount of money was announced at the wedding, and that her husband's aim was to announce that he had received a lot of money and that he was showing off to people in this way.
