10 suspects claiming to help FETO fugitive Burkay Karatepe are released

10 suspects, who were alleged to have provided financial support to former captain Burkay Karatepe, who was a member of the assassination team against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the July 15 coup attempt of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) and was captured while being searched for 10 years, while he was on the run, were released on condition of judicial control.

Within the scope of the investigation, the statements of 10 suspects, who were alleged to be connected to Karatepe and provided financial aid to him while he was on the run, were taken at the Muğla Police Department's Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate.

The suspects, whose procedures were completed, were sent to Muğla Courthouse under extensive security measures.

The suspects were released on the condition of judicial control at the criminal judgeship of peace.

EVENT

Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Terrorist Crimes Bureau of the Muğla Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, work was carried out to capture the suspects who were allegedly connected to Karatepe and provided financial aid to him while he was on the run, and 10 suspects identified in Istanbul and Eskişehir were detained in simultaneous operations organized by the teams in the two provinces.

A large number of digital materials were seized during the searches carried out at the suspects' addresses.

Burkay Karatepe, a member of FETO's assassination team, who had been wanted for 10 years, was caught in Afyonkarahisar on August 1 and arrested in Muğla on August 5.
