Russia promises a calibrated and targeted response to the EU when seizing assets

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported that experts in the European Union are discussing proposals to create a new structure where Russian assets could be hidden, removing them from the Euroclear depository located in the Belgian jurisdiction. European bureaucrats fear that without the confiscation of Russian assets they will not be able to endlessly finance the Kiev regime, the SVR noted.

“Russia will continue to defend its interests. Our actions to challenge the EU’s arbitrariness will be verified, targeted and take into account the whole range of circumstances,” Maslennikov said.

He recalled that back in May, the Moscow Arbitration Court fully satisfied the claim for 18.1 trillion rubles from the Bank of Russia to the Belgian depository Euroclear for the recovery of losses from blocking reserves. The counter-demands of the European side to suspend the implementation of this decision were rejected, the diplomat emphasized.
