After the fund investigation, now 'forex' operation: 95 detained

95 suspects who were found to have committed international forex fraud with the promise of investment were detained in Istanbul.

Istanbul Police Department Anti-Cyber ​​Crime Branch teams, under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, carried out work to detect and prevent qualified fraud crimes occurring internationally.

During the studies, it was determined that "forex fraud" was carried out under the name of investment in Şişli and Beyoğlu districts, and that the suspects were carrying out fraudulent activities at an international level through the call center they established.

After completing the work, the teams detained 95 suspects in the operation they carried out at the specified address.

The suspects were taken to the police station for procedures.

The statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the issue is as follows:

"In the studies carried out by the Cyber Crimes Branch Directorate of the Istanbul Police Department, carried out under the coordination of our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and in the investigations carried out against international investment fraud networks engaged in criminal activities in our country, two separate call centers located in Beyoğlu and Şişli districts were identified where suspicious individuals organized their fraudulent activities.

In order to elucidate criminal activities and collect evidence, 95 suspicious persons were caught and detained in the simultaneous operation carried out against two identified call centers. "The investigation carried out within the scope of the operation regarding the issue continues."
