Fugitive from Bahia sentenced to 83 years in prison for triple homicide is arrested in beach house in ES

A 44-year-old man, sentenced to 83 years in prison for triple homicide in Bahia, was arrested this Thursday (10) in Espírito Santo. He was on the run.
The arrest took place during Operation Airplane Mode, carried out jointly by the civil and military police. The suspect did not react when approached on the beach.
Investigations indicate that the man controlled drug trafficking in Recôncavo Baiano remotely from Espírito Santo. He used his cell phone to keep in touch with the group.
He was convicted of ordering a triple homicide that occurred in July 2019. The crime was motivated by a dispute between rival groups.

A 44-year-old man, identified as one of the leaders of a criminal organization linked to the Comando Vermelho faction and sentenced to 83 years and three months in prison, was arrested this Thursday morning (10) at Praia de Ubu, in Anchieta, on the South Coast of Espírito Santo.
The person under investigation, identified as Alean de Almeida Silva, had been on the run from the Bahian justice system for more than four years and lived with his family around 90 kilometers from Vitória. When the police approached him, he did not react.

The action, called Operation Airplane Mode, was carried out by the Civil Police of Espírito Santo (PCES), through the Piúma Police Station (DP), together with the Civil Police of Bahia (PCBA) and with support from the Tactical Force of the 10th Independent Military Police Company (PMES).
'He controlled traffic remotely', says delegate
According to the head of the Piúma DP, delegate Rodrigo Toscano, the fugitive was located after intelligence work shared between the Espírito Santo and Bahia police.
Still according to the delegate, the person being investigated maintained command of criminal operations even from a distance, coordinating the drug trade in Santo Antônio de Jesus and the region, in Bahia.
"This man was on the run in the municipality of Anchieta, living near Ubu beach, with his family and from there, he remotely controlled drug trafficking in Recôncavo Baiano, appointed as one of the leaders, including managing this drug trafficking inside prison units."
During the search of the property, police seized the suspect's cell phone. The preliminary analysis of the device found materials that indicate that Alean remained in frequent contact with the group's members.

“Despite being hidden in Espírito Santo, he would be responsible for coordinating criminal activities carried out by other members of the group”, pointed out the head of the Piúma DP.
Convicted of triple homicide in 2019
Alean is identified by the Civil Police of Bahia as one of the masterminds of a triple homicide that occurred on July 14, 2019, in Santo Antônio de Jesus. At the time, the victims André Lucas (known as "Luquinha"), Erundi Carlos (the "Neguinho" or "Nem") and Emerson Gutierre (called "Gu") were playing dominoes in a street when they were surprised by armed criminals and shot dead.
Investigations and the court ruling indicated that the crime was motivated by a dispute between criminal groups linked to drug trafficking, after the victims left the "Bonde de Saj" group to join the rival faction "Bonde do Maluco (BDM)".
The process also cited an interpersonal conflict involving the loan of Emerson's motorcycle in a situation linked to the ex-partner of one of the executors.
In the Jury Court, the jurors recognized the participation of Alean and others involved in the three homicides, with the qualifications of a bad motive and a resource that made it difficult for the victims to defend themselves. Alean's sentence was set at 83 years and three months in prison, while the others involved received sentences between 78 and 86 years.
Referral to the prison system
After being located, Alean was taken to the Anchieta Police Station for administrative procedures and then taken to the Triage Center at the Rodrigo Figueiredo da Rosa Penitentiary Complex, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice Department. His eventual transfer to the Bahian prison system will depend on a court decision.
