Woman killed with knife at Rosenheim train station - suspect arrested

A woman was attacked with a knife and fatally injured at night in Rosenheim train station in Upper Bavaria. A 27-year-old German was arrested at the scene under strong suspicion, the police said. He is scheduled to be brought before the magistrate later today.

The 31-year-old British woman was taken to hospital after the attack, but died from her serious injuries. It is currently unclear whether the woman and the man knew each other. It is also unknown what the woman did in Bavaria. The police are investigating the background and motive for the crime. To do this, she is looking for witnesses who observed an argument at the train station in Rosenheim at around 12:50 a.m. or earlier.

Train traffic was not significantly affected by the incident, a spokesman said. The last trains leave Rosenheim at 12:40 a.m. and the forensic work was already finished when the first trains left again early in the morning.
