Passenger record was broken on Gayrettepe-Halkalı Metro Line

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a statement regarding passenger transportation on the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Halkalı Metro Line. Uraloğlu stated that the line, which is Türkiye's fastest metro, broke records one after another.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that the line in question serves with 15 stations between Gayrettepe-Halkalı and said, "To date, we have carried 37 million 150 thousand passengers on our line. Our average daily passenger number increased from 42 thousand to 51 thousand after the Arnavutköy-Halkalı line was put into service. With the increasing interest in our line, we are reaching new passenger records. On September 7, 57 thousand 139.8 "In September, we broke consecutive records in the number of daily passengers by carrying 57 thousand 309 passengers." he said.

Stating that Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Halkalı Metro Line connects the important transportation centers of Istanbul, Uraloğlu said that the total length of the line is 69 kilometers.

Reminding that the line was put into service in stages, Minister Uraloğlu said, "We opened the stage between the Cargo Terminal and Kağıthane on January 22, 2023, our Gayrettepe station on January 29, 2024, and our Arnavutköy and Taşoluk stations on March 19, 2024. On June 19, 2026, Halkalı, Halkalı Stadium, Olympiaköy, Kayaşehir and "We put our Ibn Haldun University stations at the service of our citizens. Thus, we started to provide uninterrupted metro service with 15 stations on our line extending from Gayrettepe to Halkalı." he said.

Uraloğlu pointed out that the line connects the important transportation points of the city, especially Istanbul Airport, and said, "This line, which saves time and comfort in transportation in Istanbul, facilitates the daily life of our citizens and makes a significant contribution to the integration of Istanbul's rail system network." he said.
