7 dead, 13 injured in passenger midibus and car collision in Gaziantep

According to initial reports, 7 people died and 13 people were injured as a result of the collision between a passenger midibus and a car in Gaziantep.

The passenger midibus with plate number 34 HBS 100, whose driver has not yet been identified, overturned after colliding with a car with plate number 31 AHB 98 near rural Acaroba on the Gaziantep-Osmaniye highway.

Upon notice, health, gendarmerie, fire brigade and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident. According to initial findings, 7 people died and 13 people were injured in the accident. The injured were sent to hospitals in the city.

Gaziantep Deputy Governor İlker Eker, who came to the scene of the accident, received information from the authorities. Making a statement here, Eker wished God's mercy on those who lost their lives in the accident and healing to the injured.

CAUSE OF ACCIDENT: WRONG OVERPASSING

Eker said:

"According to our initial findings, unfortunately, 7 of our citizens lost their lives. 13 of our citizens are receiving treatment in various hospitals with minor injuries. The reason for the accident is that the driver of the car made a wrong overtaking, first colliding with the bus and then rolling over.

For now, our traffic teams and relevant units continue their work. Unfortunately, 7 of our citizens in the car, including the driver, lost their lives. One of our citizens is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. All of the injured are on the bus and thankfully, there are no citizens in serious condition among them. "All of them have mild to moderate injuries and their treatment continues."
