Memorial tree for CSD terrorist attack in Berlin's Tiergarten torn down

Unknown people tore the tree out of the ground in Berlin's Tiergarten that commemorates the Islamist terrorist attack on Christopher Street Day (CSD).

The uprooted maple tree was discovered by a patrol around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday morning, the police said.

The protective grille on the tree was also torn out and other objects were damaged or destroyed.

Just about a week ago, the rainbow bench that was set up in the same place was damaged. The demolished remains have been dismantled and the bank is to be repaired.

In the terrorist attack on July 25, the Islamist attacker drove a car into a group of people and crashed into a tree. The 21-year-old man then attacked other people with a machete before fleeing. One woman was killed and 31 people were injured, some seriously. A day later, police shot the assassin.
