Two women died in a 4-story house fire in Nha Trang

Khanh Hoa Two women, 74 and 42 years old, related to mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, trapped in a 4-story house fire in An Binh Tan urban area, South Nha Trang ward, died yesterday afternoon.

On September 3, Khanh Hoa General Hospital said that when brought to the hospital, both victims stopped circulation and breathing due to CO asphyxiation, had second-degree burns and showed signs of cardiac arrest.

The medical team did chest compressions and balloon compression through the endotracheal tube. After about 20 minutes of resuscitation, both hearts beat again and were transferred to a specialized department for continued treatment, mechanical ventilation and nutritional support.

However, the 42-year-old woman later changed seriously and her family asked her to take her home to take care of the funeral. The 74-year-old victim had a history of strokes and died this afternoon.

Leaders of the People's Committee of South Nha Trang ward visited, expressed condolences and supported the families of the two victims with 50 million VND.

At noon on September 2, a fire broke out on the second floor of a 4-story house, about 100 m2 wide, in An Binh Tan urban area, near Ring Road 2 and Binh Tan Bridge.

The fire spread quickly, smoke engulfed the house in just a few minutes. At the time of the fire, there were 6 people in the house, including children. Four people on the first floor escaped on their own, two women were trapped on the second floor.

The firefighting force coordinated with doctors and nurses from Emergency Center 115 Khanh Hoa to use specialized equipment to approach and take the two victims out. About 5 minutes later, the fire was extinguished.

Authorities suspect the incident was caused by an electrical short circuit.
