Hamas delegation in Cairo: Ceasefire and diplomatic contacts continue

In his written statement, Hamas Spokesperson Hazim Kasım stated that the movement's contacts in Egypt were carried out within the scope of ongoing negotiations with mediators and diplomatic efforts.

Kasım stated that the aim of the talks was to "transmit Israel's violations to mediators and ensure that Israel implements the road map agreed upon with the Peace Council."

Noting that the talks with the Egyptian side are being carried out within the scope of efforts to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and to prevent Israel from evading its obligations or creating new de facto situations contrary to the agreed upon agreement, Kasım stated that Hamas will continue its political and diplomatic contacts with mediators.

Kasım stated that these contacts aim to strengthen the ceasefire agreement, ensure compliance with its provisions, end violations and prevent the agreed upon process from being disrupted.

The high-level delegation, led by Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Khalil al-Hayye, went to Cairo, the capital of Egypt, to discuss the permanentization of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the developments regarding the Palestine issue.

The delegation is expected to meet with the Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Major General Hasan Reshad.

Kushner and Mladenov will also attend talks in Cairo

On the other hand, according to the news of Israeli army radio, US President Donald Trump's advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner and Gaza Peace Council High Representative Nikolay Mladenov also came to Cairo.

The news stated that Hamas Political Bureau Head Hayye was also in Cairo, and that Kushner and Mladenov would meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Egyptian intelligence officials today.

The news noted that Kushner, Mladenov, Hamas and Egyptian officials coordinated stances and negotiation formulas before Kushner and Mladenov's expected meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem tomorrow.

It was noted that the talks aimed to persuade Netanyahu to accept the 15-article document, that the initiative was carried out at the request of US President Trump and that the aim was to put pressure on the Tel Aviv administration to reduce Israel's objections to the document.

The Israeli army radio report also stated that the US side assessed that it would be difficult for Netanyahu to make major concessions on the Gaza issue until the elections.
