Scandal of tampering with Ataturk photo on Hearts of Iron IV Discord server

A scandalous incident occurred on the official Discord server of the popular strategy game "Hearts of Iron IV" of Sweden-based world-famous game producer Paradox Interactive. A Turkish user who joined the server with a profile photo of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, was removed from the channel without justification by the server administrator.

The user who wanted to regain access to the server was pressured by the administrator to remove or change the photo. The administrator's intervention in his profile photo by making claims about Atatürk that were incompatible with historical facts drew the reaction of game lovers.

BOYCOTT FROM EMRAH SAFA GÜRKAN

Famous historian and publisher Emrah Safa Gürkan also supported the reaction and boycott movement initiated by game lovers after the incident spread in a short time on social media.

Stating that he has more than 6 thousand hours in the game, Gürkan emphasized that there was historical distortion and open hostility and used the following statements:

"I have more than 6000 hours. I'm not even counting their other games. There is open hostility and distortion of history. Atatürk does not have any historical controversy, but they probably already know this. Boycott. Unless they correct their hostile attitude and apologize, I will not play."
