Fires in Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City caused many casualties and trapped people

A fire broke out in a 4-story house in Nha Trang, smoke quickly covered the floors, causing two people to suffer burns and asphyxiation and have to be hospitalized.

At around 12:00 a.m. on September 2, fire broke out on the second floor of a 4-story house, about 100 m2 wide in An Binh Tan urban area, South Nha Trang ward, near Ring Road 2 and Binh Tan bridge.

The fire spread quickly, smoke engulfed the house in just a few minutes. According to witnesses, there were more than three people in the house at the time of the fire, including young children, who had just finished lunch. Most of them were on the first floor so they could run out in time.

Firefighting and rescue forces of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police dispatched specialized vehicles and dozens of soldiers to the scene. About 5 minutes later, the fire was extinguished.

Two injured people were taken to the emergency room. According to a representative of Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital, the two victims were female and hospitalized in serious condition. Among them, Ms. Le Thi Kim, 74 years old, is having circulatory and respiratory arrest outside the hospital due to smoke inhalation and second-degree burns. The patient is on a ventilator and receiving nutritional support. Ms. Le Nguyen Hong Chuong, 42 years old, was diagnosed with respiratory arrest and second-degree burns, and is being actively resuscitated by doctors.

The fire also destroyed many properties on the second floor, black smoke filled the entire house. The cause is being investigated.

Previously, in Ho Chi Minh City, around 9 a.m., a fire broke out from the third floor of a 6-story house, more than 120 square meters wide on Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, Nhieu Loc Ward (old District 3), about 200 meters from Dan Chu Roundabout.

Smoke quickly enveloped the upper floors, trapping the couple and their two young children, ages 1 and 4. The husband ran down to the ground floor and tried to escape through the main door, but was blocked by fire and smoke, so he took his wife and children to the rooftop to call for help.

Four fire engines, ladder trucks and 28 officers and soldiers were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters controlled the fire and at the same time approached the rooftop and brought the whole family to safety.

The fire damaged many household appliances and furniture; The cause is being determined.
