Man is found dead in the sea at Praia de Itaparica, in Vila Velha

A 57-year-old man was found dead with his body partially submerged on Itaparica Beach, in Vila Velha, Greater Vitória, this Sunday morning (11).

The Municipal Guard was called around 6am to respond to the incident, recorded between posts 16 and 17 on the beach.

According to Vila Velha City Hall, agents who were at Praça dos Ciclistas traveled to the location and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers on the man.

A team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu/192) was also called and confirmed the death.

The city hall explained that the case occurred before 8 am, the time when lifeguards begin their daily work on the city's beaches. The Fire Department did not respond to the incident.

The Civil Police reported that the case was registered as a death to be clarified. The body will be taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML), in Vitória. The cause of death will be confirmed with test results.
