Man suspected of moving money for a police officer is arrested in Campinas in Operation Infiltrados

A man suspected of moving money for a civil police officer was arrested this Friday (25), in Campinas (SP), in the second phase of Operation Infiltrados.

Launched in June, the action investigates the activities of alleged PCC infiltrators in the Public Ministry and the Civil Police. In the first phase, a head of Civil Police investigators, a former civil police officer and a former MP intern were arrested.

According to the Police Special Actions Battalion (Baep), the man arrested this Friday is not a police officer, but worked for one of the civil police officers involved in the case.

The court authorized the temporary arrest and a search of the suspect's residence, on Avenida Marechal Rondon. The target's name was not disclosed and, therefore, g1 was unable to locate his defense.

The man was identified after analyzing documents, cell phones and notebooks seized in the first phase. According to the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco), he would have acted in two ways:

transporting and moving money for the benefit of the civil police officer;

providing a cell phone with a chip registered in another person's name, used, in theory, to make it difficult to identify conversations between those involved.

In the home of one of the accused in the first phase, proof of bank deposits were found. Part of them, according to Gaeco, identifies the man arrested this Friday as responsible for the payments.

The documents indicate deposits made between January 2025 and January 2026, with amounts between R$10 thousand and R$51.7 thousand. Added together, the transactions amount to R$324,220.

For Gaeco, the values ​​identified are, in principle, incompatible with the income of the public agents involved.

The agency is still trying to clarify the origin and destination of the money and verify whether other people participated in the scheme.

The first phase of Operation Infiltrados highlighted suspicions of leaking confidential information and extortion.

Former Public Prosecutor's Office intern, Gabriel Lira de Jesus, is accused of using access to internal systems to identify those under investigation and charge money in exchange for supposed protection.

The former head of Civil Police investigators, Maurício Aparecido de Oliveira, is suspected of passing on privileged information to someone being investigated.

Operation Infiltrados arose from investigations into a PCC plan to kill prosecutor Amauri Silveira Filho. A week before the action that thwarted the attack, the then head of investigators at Dise de Campinas met with one of the suspects of carrying out the crime, according to the Public Ministry.

From then on, Gaeco began investigating a possible leak of confidential information. Another front revealed suspicions of extortion: the former MP intern allegedly charged R$500,000 to prevent the sending of information about an investigated person to Gaeco.

In the first phase, Maurício Oliveira's defense stated that he was still awaiting access to the records and criticized the temporary arrest. Gabriel's defense said that the facts would be clarified in the process and highlighted that any conclusion at that time would be premature.

Those accused in the first phase respond for criminal association, extortion, breach of functional secrecy and ideological falsehood. The process is ongoing.

This Friday's incident will be presented at the 1st Civil Police Section of Campinas.
