Hulusi Akar: Türkiye Without Terrorism Should Not Be Used as a Political Material

Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and AK Party Kayseri Deputy Hulusi Akar made statements about the agenda in a television program he attended.

Speaking about a terrorist-free Turkey, Akar said that the work continues meticulously and said, "We have made an effort to fight against terrorism for 40 years, and we are showing it. Mehmetçik performed a very successful task in this regard. We had martyrs and veterans. But we never gave up here. When we look back, there was a wait in 2014 under the name of 'solution process'. The terrorists saw this as a weakness. This was not a weakness. He surrendered with regret within the framework of the law. And it was done with the aim of resolving this issue somehow. But this process continued until July 24, 2015. There were attacks and losses in this process. Therefore, on February 27, 2025, İmralı made a statement: "Dissolve the organization, lay down the weapons." "What we want to do is to save our country from this trouble that has been consuming our country and our nation's energy for 40 years. While these are being done, concessions and bargaining are out of the question," he said.

Stating that a Terror-free Turkey should not be used as a political tool, Akar said, "Some political parties and some members of these political parties exploit some issues for their own personal and political goals. They distort some issues. Everyone should come to their senses on this issue and not use the issue of Terror-free Turkey as a political tool. There should be no polemics about this. The main issue here is the security, welfare of 86 million people and the security of our land."
