13 Suspects in Courthouse in IMM Tender Investigation

Within the scope of the investigations carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the "İmamoğlu profit-oriented criminal organization", in accordance with the preliminary examination report and expert reports prepared by the Civil Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police procedures of 13 suspects who were detained regarding the allegation of rigging some tenders carried out by the IMM Purchasing Directorate, including the purchase of materials for the IMM Presidential Residence, and causing public damage, have been completed.

After their procedures at the police station, the suspects Abdulkerim Hazirbaba, Mustafa Delipoyraz, Volkan Karagöz, Talha Özyurt, Rezzan Neslihan Vural, Gökhan Fırtına, Saliha Ülkü Aydoğan, Ali Toy, Mehmet Yücetürk, Mustafa Sökmen, Vedat Taşdelen, Ekrem Baki and Onur Gülin were examined at the hospital.

The proceedings of the suspects who were referred to the Istanbul Palace of Justice in Çağlayan continue at the prosecutor's office.

In the statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on September 3, it was stated that within the scope of the investigations into the actions and activities of the criminal organization established under the leadership of Ekrem İmamoğlu, in accordance with the preliminary examination report prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Civil Inspectorate and expert reports, it was determined that some tenders carried out by the IMM Purchasing Directorate, including the purchase of materials for the IMM Presidential Residence, were rigged and public damage was caused.

In this context, it was stated that a detention decision was made for the suspects with a simultaneous operation against 14 suspects. "12 suspects were caught and taken into custody by the officers of the Istanbul Financial Crimes Fighting Branch Directorate, and the arrest efforts for 1 suspect are continuing because he is abroad, the investigations are carried out meticulously and are presented to the public." expressions were used.

One more suspect was captured within the scope of the operation, thus increasing the number of suspects detained to 13.

It was reported that Gülin, one of the suspects, was in prison for another crime and Mahmut Berk Şahin was abroad and efforts to capture him were ongoing.
