Elderly man is shot in Várzea Grande and remains in serious condition

According to the Municipal Hospital and Emergency Room of Várzea Grande (HPSMVG), the patient was admitted in serious condition, with head injuries, injuries to the right eye and other parts of the body. He underwent emergency surgery, is on mechanical ventilation and remains under medical care, awaiting a place in the ICU, already requested from the State Regulation Center.

In the images, the motorcycle accompanies the victim as he approaches the gate of the house. The suspect then shoots the elderly man several times, who falls to the sidewalk. Even after the victim is on the ground, the shooter apparently continues to fire shots. Shortly afterwards, another motorcycle appears on the street and approaches the scene. Upon realizing what was happening, the person in the vehicle reverses and leaves the area.

The Military Police were called by the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (Ciosp) at around 6:20 pm. When they arrived at the address, the police found the elderly man lying next to a motorcycle, with injuries that were believed to have been caused by gunshots. During the initial investigation, several 9 mm caliber ammunition capsules were found scattered across the street.

A team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) provided first aid and took the victim to the Várzea Grande Emergency Room. According to the Military Police, the elderly man's health condition was serious.
