Information on UwayApply system failure investigation and test taker relief procedures

The Ministry of Education decided to thoroughly investigate the cause of the failure of the university admission application application system and completely review the application system to prevent recurrence.

Specific relief procedures and methods for test takers who were unable to submit applications on time due to system failures will be announced on the 13th.

Regarding the error that occurred in the application system for rolling admissions, the Ministry of Education announced on the 12th, "We will conduct a comprehensive review of the application system as well as measures to prevent recurrence to prevent similar cases from occurring in the future."

The Ministry of Education emphasized this in an explanatory material that day, saying, "We are very seriously aware of the inconvenience and concern of test takers and parents due to the failure of Uway Apply's application reception system."

He also added, "We will thoroughly investigate the overall application reception system, including the cause of Uway Apply's system failure, actual status, and measures taken."

In addition, the Ministry of Education announced on the 13th that it would provide detailed relief procedures and methods, saying, "We are quickly preparing relief measures with the Korean Council for University Education (KUU) to ensure that test-takers who were unable to complete their application due to system failures are disadvantaged."

According to the Korea University Education Association, at around 5:50 p.m. on the 11th, an error appeared in the application system of Uway Apply, one of the two admissions application acceptance agencies, and some test takers were unable to properly submit applications and complete payments.

Accordingly, the Korea University Education Association postponed the application submission deadline from 6 PM to 7 PM.

Some test-takers are protesting against the extension of the deadline, saying it undermines the fairness of support opportunities among test-takers.
