The Kremlin announces 'extremely frank' talks between Putin and American emissaries on ending the war in Ukraine

The Kremlin said overnight that President Vladimir Putin held "extremely frank" talks with American emissaries on ways to end the war in Ukraine and the Americans put forward "several ideas" during these "extremely frank" discussions.

"The American representatives prepared meticulously for this visit. They not only reiterated their usual interest in a speedy conclusion of hostilities, but also put forward several ideas on possible ways to reach a solution," Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov told reporters. "The conversation was constructive, extremely frank and full of trust", he added, specifying that the Russian side "said it was confident in achieving the set objectives".
