The municipal government inaugurated the Prizo 1 Park, where an area of more than 9 thousand square meters was intervened with sports fields and recreation spaces and which was recovered given that for years it was controlled by crime.
"Those are mistaken who believe that it is possible to come to set up on the basis of infamy and defamation, the only thing that I have as a path is honor, complete honesty and the great love that I have for Ecatepec. For years criminals were allowed to appropriate public spaces, that is what happened due to the lack of institutions, due to the lack of governance," said the municipal president, Azucena Cisneros Coss.
This Saturday, the mayor toured the park where works were carried out such as: rehabilitation of the soccer field and construction of a multi-field equipped with two multi-goals; installation of an area for skateboarding, which has specialized furniture and is surrounded by a cycle path; In addition, a jogger was installed to walk and run around the park.
A dog park was also installed, which was equipped with furniture for the dogs; The children's area was improved, where games were placed, including a swing and a see-saw for children with wheelchairs.
Likewise, the House for the Elderly was rehabilitated and a vigil was placed for coexistence and recreation activities for seniors.
Mayor Azucena Cisneros recalled that this park “despite being a public space, it was a territory that, of course, was sequestered for years and years and years, by crime, by gang activity that, of course, what mattered the least was whether there were some young people or children, who played on that famous fronton.”
He stated that the current administration has recovered approximately 50 spaces, both from the municipal government and from the communities, that were taken advantage of and used as a business by organizations, to the detriment of the rights of the people in Ecatepec.
He stated that the municipal government carried out a social anthropological survey, where several inhabitants of the place were interviewed, where they asked how they felt with that space and the response of the majority was: completely unsafe. Reason why the municipal government decided to intervene and rehabilitate the place. "None of the spaces that were built were by chance. It was the result of a consultation with the residents of this community."
The mayor, when hugging Don Miguel, an elderly person who wanted to see the park before dying, commented: “she dreamed of that, of the recovery and dignification of this entire region that is Prizo, and her eyes have already seen it and she is happy.”
Carlos Cruz, director of Public Services, reported that approximately 60 days ago a comprehensive intervention was carried out to transform this park, where his personnel installed 161 lights and 67 poles.
Civil Protection elements carried out 80 sanitary prunings and the removal of a beehive; At the same time, employees of the Environment Directorate planted 1,480 ornamental and pollinator plants, as well as 80 trees.
The mayor announced that in that place, in addition to applying the Cambia de Cancha program, so that young people can practice various sports, a Teenager's House will be built, where recreational and recreational activities will be provided for children and young people, as well as the installation of a boxing ring.
