Fires in Abruzzo, shortage of aircraft and fires still active

In Abruzzo there is confirmation of the serious difficulties due to the lack of air vehicles assigned by Rome, by the national coordination managed by the civil protection, in combating the fire emergency: in the evening bulletin issued by the Abruzzo Civil Protection, the fires are taken stock of and the breakdowns that prevented the use of four of the seven scheduled vehicles are reported in the balance sheet. And so the four most dangerous fronts are still worrying and in these hours firefighters and civil protection are organizing night patrols to be able, from tomorrow morning, to start the battle again from the sky. And tomorrow will still be a field day.

In the province of L'Aquila, in Roccacasale and Corfinio, flames are being extinguished; In the late afternoon a Canadair and a helicopter operated and in the evening the SS 17, previously closed as a precaution, was reopened. As well as in Bisegna where two aircraft operated in the afternoon and where there will be a substantial night garrison. Also extinguished in Rocca di Cambio and Rocca di Mezzo, mountain municipalities in L'Aquilano.

Even in the province of Chieti, in Roio del Sangro, the regional civil protection considers the situation to be under threat. There are then new outbreaks in Città Sant'Angelo, Abbateggio and Alanno, in the province of Pescara. In Bussi sul Tirino the fire was put out, in San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore is being cleaned up.

In the province of Chieti there are two outbreaks, in Vasto and Bucchianico. In the province of Teramo, extinguished in Roseto degli Abruzzi, Montepagano, and in Piancarani.
