Fires in Veneto: +10% in interventions by the Fire Brigade in 2026

During 2026, the interventions carried out by the Veneto Fire Brigade on fire cases were 10,277, over a thousand more than the 9,257 recorded on the same date a year ago. This is reported by the statistics obtained with the sum of the operations carried out by the seven provincial commands, active in the region on this day of August 15th with 679 operators on duty over the 24 hours, of which 321 on the night shift. Among the other interventions by the Fire Brigade carried out in the seven and a half months of 2026 so far, there are 8,267 for rescues and rescues (8,911 last year) and 4,752 for road accidents (given which essentially does not change compared to the 4,756 in 2025). With regard to the causes of the overall increase in fire brigade interventions recorded this year (31,368, +19% compared to last year), the various waves of bad weather that affected the regional territory are particularly important. Finally, the number of brushwood and vegetation fires is significant: from 1 January to 14 August 2026 there have already been 1,056 interventions, while in the whole of 2025 there were 987.
