Accident on the A16: closed section between Benevento and Avellino East towards Naples

Due to an accident that occurred at km 60+700, inside the Montemiletto tunnel, which involved three heavy vehicles, the section between Benevento and Avellino Est, in the direction of Naples, was closed from around 10am on the A16 Napoli-Canosa. This was announced in a press release from Autostrade.

Traffic Police patrols and staff from the Sixth Section of Cassino Directorate of Autostrade per l'Italia intervened at the scene of the event.

Currently, at the site of the event, traffic is blocked in the direction of Naples and there is a 1km queue.

Users heading to Naples must exit at Benevento, get onto the SS7 Appia following the signs for Pratola Serr, then continue towards Avellino and return to the A16 at Avellino Est.
