Exterior elevator accident in İnegöl: Mustafa Balkan lost his life

Mustafa Balkan (65), who was seriously injured when the disabled elevator they installed on the exterior of their house in Bursa's İnegöl district fell from a height of approximately 4 meters, died 7 days later in the hospital where he was treated. It was learned that his wife, Gerdan Balkan (60), who was injured in the same elevator accident, was discharged.

The incident took place on Sunday, September 20, at around 21:00 in the rural Bilalköy District of İnegöl district. Mustafa Balkan, who was learned to be physically disabled, got on the disabled elevator built on the exterior of his 2-storey house with his wife Gerdan Balkan (60). While the couple wanted to go down, the elevator crashed to the ground from a height of approximately 4 meters as a result of its rope breaking. The seriously injured couple was taken to İnegöl State Hospital by ambulance. It was determined that Mustafa Balkan and Gerdan Balkan, who were treated here, had fractures in various parts of their bodies. After her treatment, Gerdan Balkan was discharged from the hospital yesterday. Mustafa Balkan, whose treatment continued in the intensive care unit, lost his 7-day fight for life. Balkan's body was sent to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy after the investigation by the prosecutor's office.
