Iran: warning from the Strait of Hormuz Authority on shipping routes

Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) issued a warning to shipowners on X regarding sailing ships through "unauthorized routes" in the Strait of Hormuz.

“Reports received by PGSA indicate that some charterers are forcing vessels to use unauthorized routes. Such an initiative not only increases the risk of financial losses and possible damage to vessels, but also severely restricts future passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz,” the authority said.

“Charterers responsible for violations will be placed on the non-compliance list (NCL) and the passage through the waterway of all vessels associated with them will be restricted,” he added, Iranian news agency Tasnim reported.
