Turin, 5-year-old boy hit: father's ex-girlfriend arrested

The person who hit the 5-year-old boy last night in Turin appears to have been the ex-partner of the child's father, a 24-year-old girl, stopped by the police during the night on charges of attempted murder and aggravated bodily harm.

The twenty-four-year-old, in her car, first hit the child, then fled. It therefore would not have been an accident but the police are still working to ascertain the exact dynamics of what happened. The child, who suffered abdominal and thoracic trauma, is not in danger of life and has a prognosis of between 30 and 40 days.

The child is in the surgery department of the Regina Margherita children's hospital in Turin, directed by Dr. Fabrizio Gennari.

The events occurred between 10.30pm and 11pm in the Cit Turin area, not far from the center of the Piedmontese capital, and the Carabinieri are carrying out checks to verify which other people were present on the street on the spot.
