Arrests in Gloucestershire: suspected transport of explosives to the Fairford RAF base

"5 men" were arrested during the night following the suspected transport of explosives on board three vans headed towards the RAF air base in Fairford, in the English county of Gloucestershire: also used by the USA, including in the war on Iran.

This was announced in a briefing by a local British police officer, confirming that the investigations are now "conducted in coordination with counter-terrorism".

The official then asked to avoid "conjectures" and reiterated that people living in 85 houses in the area had been evacuated from their homes "as a precaution" while checks continued.
