Preparation of a Joint Declaration of Independence from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

It was stated that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will sign a joint declaration at the summit to be held in Cardiff. The declaration of the three countries, requesting permission to hold self-determination and independence referendums, will cover many areas such as economy, energy, Europe and internal cooperation. The declaration will argue that all three parties should be allowed to join the European Union.

SCOPE OF THE PRESENTATION

According to The Telegraph, the declaration to be signed will also include commitments to strengthen ties with European countries "in order to prepare for the struggle for independence." The declaration will set out common positions on a wide range of issues, including the economy, energy, Europe, internal cooperation and the right to self-determination.

Regarding the accession of the three parties to the European Union, it will be argued that Scotland and Wales should be included as new members and Northern Ireland as part of the Republic of Ireland.

'THERE IS NO CONSENSUS IN SCOTLAND'

Sources said the declaration aimed to increase pressure on British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, who stated that Scotland's independence referendum could be held with public support. Burnham claimed there was no consensus on Scotland's independence referendum. Burnham reportedly sent a letter to Scottish National Party leader and Scottish Prime Minister John Swinney on Thursday, insisting that a Scottish independence referendum was not possible for now.

Burnham claimed there was no consensus on an independence referendum in Scotland and that there was no clear basis to suggest that the majority of people in Northern Ireland currently wanted to leave the United Kingdom.

The British Prime Minister allegedly claimed that such a referendum would distract from the need to focus on growing the UK economy and reducing the cost of living.

On Sunday, Scottish Prime Minister John Swinney said the momentum behind the independence movement was "undeniable" and suggested that Burnham "could go down in history as the last prime minister of the United Kingdom."
