Lebanon threat from Israeli Defense Minister Katz! 'We are ready for ground operation'

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, together with Northern Command Commander Major General Rafi Milo and other commanders, made statements from the south of Israel-occupied Lebanon.

In his statement here, Katz said, "If Hezbollah is involved in an Iranian attack on Israel, it will receive a heavy blow and lose more territory in the south of Lebanon, including the regions around Nabataea and the Litani River. These regions will become part of Israel's permanent security zone. The Israeli army is ready to carry out the ground operation." he said.

Katz also said that they would add Beirut's Dahiye region to their attack points and target "Hezbollah points" there, adding, "More than a million Shiites will be displaced within Lebanon." he said.

The Israeli army launched intense air strikes on Lebanon on March 2 and occupied dozens of towns in the south of the country. The Lebanese government announced that the number of people displaced in the country due to the attacks exceeded 1 million.

The ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, which came into force on April 17, was later extended several times. In its last statement on October 12, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that at least 4 thousand 389 people had died in Israel's attacks on the country since March 2.

On the other hand, Israel and Lebanon signed a "framework agreement" under the mediation of the USA on June 26, aiming to end the conflict between the two countries and ensure long-term peace.

The agreement envisages Israel's gradual withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territory and the continuation of the negotiation process between the parties. However, despite the agreement reached, Israel continues its occupation and attacks in Lebanon.
