Comprehensive operation in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Aydın and Mersin: 162 people were detained, investigations continue regarding drug and sexual abuse suspicions

FERİT ZENGİN / News Center - According to the information provided by the Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, in the operations launched under the coordination of the Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Aydın and Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, 162 people were detained and legal proceedings were carried out against 9 associations and 13 businesses. Gürlek said, "In the investigations, people who mediate or provide space for prostitution, businesses that are considered to provide an environment for these activities, suspects who produce and spread obscene content, and activities aimed at exposing children to these contents were examined. Simultaneous detention, search and seizure procedures were carried out as a result of the appointment of an undercover investigator, technical and physical surveillance, witness statements, digital examinations and video recordings."

Drugs, stimulants...

Simultaneous searches, arrests and seizures were carried out against 10 businesses and 6 LGBTI+ associations in Istanbul. Drugs and stimulants, smuggled alcohol, unlicensed guns and camera recording devices were seized at the addresses.

21 people were detained in the operation carried out against KAOS GL in Ankara. Access to 73 sites and accounts was blocked.

Sexual intercourse network for money

One of the critical statements of the “My Family is Safe” operation was included in the investigation file. The suspect also reported to the prosecutor's office that he had Telegram correspondence regarding his allegations and the IBAN information and Telegram usernames of some people. In the statement, it was claimed that some people published their obscene images in exchange for money on Telegram, Instagram, YouTube and OnlyFans. It was claimed that some people both used or procured drugs and were involved in a sexual relationship network in exchange for money. The suspect claimed that some people worked as gigolos for money, and some people introduced men to other men in exchange for money. In the financial aspect of the investigation, it was determined that a total of 3 million 359 thousand 167 dollars were transferred to the 6 LGBTI+ associations examined in Istanbul at different periods, which were stated to be linked to foreign individuals, institutions, embassies and international organizations. It was learned that the MASAK investigation is continuing.

Drug detention for actress Çağla Boz

3 people, including actress Çağla Boz, were detained within the scope of the drug investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Efforts to capture the 2 suspects for whom detention orders have been issued are continuing.
