The Presidency is implementing one of its two urban transformation projects in Istanbul, which is facing the threat of earthquakes. Since 2012, 1 million 298 thousand independent sections have been included in the scope of transformation in Istanbul. The transformation of 1 million 7 thousand independent sections has been completed. The transformation of 291 thousand independent sections in the city continues.
MINISTER INSTITUTION: WE WILL CONTINUE TRANSFORMATION QUICKLY TO PREPARE OUR CITY FOR DISASTER
Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, shared images of the transformation of Tokatköy Neighborhood in Beykoz district, one of the exemplary urban transformation projects, and announced that the transformation of more than 1 million independent sections in Istanbul has been completed. Host Kazım Sönmez's "Who could be more secure than the state?" Quoting his words, Minister Kurum said in his post, "The number of residences we have converted in our Istanbul has reached 1,000,000. We will continue the transformation rapidly to prepare our city for disasters. Here is Beykoz, Tokatköy."
HOST DİNÇ: PILES WERE DRIVEN UP TO THE ROCKS
Within the scope of the 2-stage project in Tokatköy, in cooperation with Emlak Konut GYO, a total of 823 independent sections, 776 of which are residences and 47 of which are workplaces, are being built. Within the scope of the project, the first phase of which was completed, 227 residences and 35 workplaces were built and delivered to the beneficiaries.
Ali Dinç, who moved to his new house in Tokatköy, talked about the old state of the neighborhood and said, "I was born in 1966. I came here when I was 6 months old. A fire brigade could not enter the street of our building before it was demolished. I mean, if a vehicle, a public bus, a heavy tonnage vehicle passed, I would feel a jolt. I really wanted to apply because of the fear of earthquakes." While describing the current state of his house, Dinç said, "There is no trace of the old appearance left here. Piles were driven into the rocks, bored piles. That's why I am very comfortable and peaceful. In my opinion, this is a luxury flat, it was very difficult for us to move into such a flat."
“EVERYONE LEAVES, THE STATE REMAINS”
Expressing his satisfaction with the work, Kazım Sönmez said, "There were houses here, some multi-storey, some single-storey, unsuitable for earthquakes, with all kinds of problems. Now, I saw with my own eyes that solid buildings were built. I specifically counted, 75 piles were driven into the foundation of a building. I truly believe it is solid." Sönmez emphasized the importance of trust in the state in urban transformation and made a call to the citizens: Everyone should trust their state, the statesman does not let down, and never will. So far, we have seen it in TOKİ and Emlak Konut. The state definitely ensures people's health and homes. Everyone leaves and the state remains. I advise them to trust the state and give their homes. If anyone doesn't trust, come and see this place. There is great value here.
“WE ENCOUNTERED WITH A QUALITY MUCH EXCEEDING OUR EXPECTATIONS”
Ömer Kuru, one of the citizens, said, "We have indeed encountered a quality that is much higher than our expectations. May God bless our state. All of them have been successful. Every point has been usable, whatever is necessary has been done. There is no unnecessary space. It is a very beautiful architecture, every point of which is well designed and thought out."
INFLUENCE ON THE TRANSFORMATION OF ISTANBUL, HALF OF IT IS FROM US
Within the scope of the Half of Us, which is the most important campaign that increases urban transformation in Istanbul, 384 thousand 553 independent sections have been included in the scope of transformation so far. Within the scope of the building-based transformation of the Half is on Us Campaign, a total of 1 million 875 thousand TL support is given to citizens to rebuild their risky buildings, including 875 thousand TL grant, 875 thousand TL loan and 125 thousand TL evacuation support. Citizens who benefit from the campaign can have their homes rebuilt by contractor companies. Under the same conditions, a grant of 437 thousand 500 TL, a loan of 437 thousand 500 TL and a moving support of 125 thousand TL are provided for a shop/workplace of the beneficiary. In large area-based site-like transformations, TOKİ or Emlak Konut construction undertakes. In this model, 875 thousand TL grant support and 125 thousand TL relocation support are provided for each beneficiary. The grant amount is deducted from the building cost, and the remaining debt is paid in installments with suitable long-term payment terms.
