TOKİ social housing rental applications begin in Istanbul

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, in his post about the sample flats in Ataşehir on his social media account, said, "We will start receiving applications tomorrow for our rental houses in Istanbul. Are you curious about our houses? Here are the TOKİ houses we will rent in Ataşehir." he said.

On the other hand, according to the statement made by the Ministry, within the scope of the Housing Project of the Century, for which President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that applications will start on September 14, 100 thousand social houses in Istanbul, as well as 15 thousand houses will be rented to low-income citizens with the rental social housing model to be implemented for the first time in Türkiye.

Applications for the 1071 residences completed in the first phase of the project will be received free of charge via e-Government on 14-25 September. The draw and house deliveries will begin in October.

360 of the rental houses will be located in Başakşehir, Gaziosmanpaşa, Beyoğlu and Güngören, 330 in Maltepe, Tuzla and Kartal, 291 in Ataşehir, Sancaktepe, Ümraniye and Üsküdar, and 90 in Arnavutköy.

Rental prices will start from 10 thousand liras for 1+1 residences, 12 thousand liras for 2+1 residences, 15 thousand liras for 3+1 residences, and 18 thousand liras for 4+1 residences. 1+1 or 2+1 housing will be allocated to young married families, and 2+1, 3+1 or 4+1 housing will be allocated to families with two or more children.

"The average monthly net income will not exceed 100 thousand liras"

The residences will be rented for 3 years to citizens who meet the conditions. Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, over 18 years of age, have resided in Istanbul uninterruptedly for the last year, and be married. There will be no marriage requirement for people over the age of 65 at the end of the application period.

The applicant or his/her spouse must not have an independent residence registered in the land registry within the borders of Turkey, must not have acquired, transferred or sold any real estate as an independent residence in the last 5 years, must not have signed a housing contract with TOKİ before and must not have an active principal or reserve right in social housing or My First Home Land projects.

It will also be among the application conditions that the average monthly net income of the household for the last 12 months does not exceed 100 thousand lira.

There will be no increase in rental fees for the first 12 months. The first increase will be made in January after the 12-month period, based on the change rate of the CPI according to the 12-month averages, and the subsequent increases will be applied with the same method in January every year.
