Investigation into bribery and organized intervention in courthouses in Istanbul

In the investigation carried out by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on charges of 'taking bribes', 'giving bribes', 'establishing a criminal organization by mediating bribes', 'managing and being a member', evidence and findings were obtained indicating that there was an organized intervention in some cases and investigations held in various courthouses in Istanbul between 2022 and 2024.

According to DHA's news, according to the findings in the investigation file, it is evaluated that a structure, including business people, politicians and lawyers, tried to illegally direct some judicial processes in return for financial gain through members of the judiciary and courthouse personnel they are in contact with.

8 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED, ORDERS TO ARREST 2 FAILURE SUSPECTS

As part of the investigation, 8 suspects have been arrested so far. An arrest warrant was issued for two suspects who were reported to be fugitives abroad. Members of the judiciary whose names were mentioned in the file were reported to the Council of Judges and Prosecutors. Following the evaluations, 5 judges and public prosecutors were suspended from duty. It was also learned that an investigation was launched against a retired public prosecutor and a judge who resigned from his post. One of the critical figures in the investigation is former Istanbul 4th Enforcement Civil Court Judge B.K. happened. B.K., who was suspended from duty, was arrested for bribery by the high criminal court on duty, to which he was referred, on October 3, 2026, in line with the evidence obtained within the scope of the investigation. An arrest warrant was issued for two members of the judiciary on charges of aiding a terrorist organization and intermediary in bribery.

THE CASE TO WHICH THE GOOD PARTY MEMBER IS A PARTY IS ALSO IN INVESTIGATION

One of the striking parts of the investigation was regarding the case in which İYİ Party Kocaeli Deputy L.T. was a party. According to the findings in the file, the case heard in the Istanbul 4th Enforcement Civil Court is M.Ş., who is considered to be the leader of the criminal organization. and Y.A., who is still a fugitive abroad. via L.T. Evidence was found that it was concluded in his favor and that the judge presiding over the case, B.K., received financial benefit during this process. The file was separated and sent to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the procedures to be carried out against the MP.

MILLIONS OF LIRA BRIBERY ALLEGATIONS ARE BEING INVESTIGATED

As part of the investigation, the allegation that bribes worth millions of liras were paid to B.K. is also being investigated. According to the evidence obtained, a part of the benefit in question was sent to B.K.'s bank account under the name of "deposit" and the remaining part was transferred to B.K. Allegations that payments were made to his brother are being examined. It was learned that the prosecutor's office's investigation into money movements and other evidence continues.

LAWYER B.T. ARRESTED

In another part of the investigation, lawyer B.T. is available. It was claimed that B.T. shared the photographs taken in the public prosecutor's office and took over the files of some suspects with promises of 'we will handle them'. B.T., whose position and actions within the organized structure were examined, was arrested in line with the evidence obtained. The investigation carried out by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office aims to reveal all aspects of the money traffic through contacts established with members of the judiciary and courthouse personnel, whether attempts were made to influence judicial decisions in return for financial gain, who mediated the cases and investigations. It was learned that the investigation is continuing in many aspects.
