Armed Attack on Silver Shop in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, Suspect Caught

An armed attack was carried out by a masked suspect in a silver shop in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul. While the suspect, who escaped after the incident, was caught, the moments of the attack were recorded with a security camera.

The incident took place around 17:00 in a passage on Küçükçekmece Tevfikbey Mahallesi Halkalı Street. According to the information obtained, a masked and armed suspect entered the passage and shot several times at a silversmith's shop. After the incident, the suspect fled the scene on foot. Hearing the gunshots, shopkeepers and citizens in the area caught the fleeing suspect. Police teams arrived at the scene upon notice and detained the suspect and confiscated his gun. Crime scene investigation teams worked in the area. While there were no deaths or injuries in the attack, damage occurred at the workplace.

After the incident, the suspect's escape and capture moments were recorded by surrounding security cameras and citizens' mobile phone cameras.

On the other hand, it was claimed that business owners were called from a foreign line number and sent threatening messages by an unidentified person or persons after the attack.

Speaking about the incident, shopkeeper Samet Koç said, "The person entered the street. I wondered why he was wearing long sleeves on a summer day. He was masked. He fired a gun. Then the chase started. Someone dropped him while he was running. The police caught him and he was caught."

Another tradesman, Öznur Adıgüzel, said, "We heard a few gunshots. Then we saw that there was a crowd. We saw someone running towards us with a gun in his hand and we panicked. While running away from here, a citizen tripped him and he fell. Thus, he was caught. The police came and intervened in the incident and the person's gun was taken away. We were very scared."
