Ayşe Tokyaz Murder Case: Defendant Cemil Koç Claims It Was a Fall

When Esra Tokyaz could not hear from her sister Ayşe Tokyaz in 2025, she reported the situation to the police. As a result of the investigations, Ayşe Tokyaz's body was found in a suitcase on the side of the road in Eyüpsultan. As a result of the deepened investigation, former police officer Cemil Koç, Tokyaz's lover, was detained and arrested. A lawsuit was filed against 11 people, including Koç.

3 defendants, 2 of whom were detained, attended the hearing held at Küçükçekmece 2nd High Criminal Court. Arrested defendant Cemil Koç was connected to the hearing from prison via the SEGBİS system. Many spectators attended the hearing, where Ayşe Tokyaz's family and lawyers were also present. Esra Tokyaz, who was first given the floor at the hearing, said, "I want them to receive the heaviest punishment. May God damn them." Mother Halime Tokyaz said, "They burned not only Ayşe but all of us. They should receive the heaviest punishment."

DEFENDANT CEMİL KOÇ: “THIS IS NOT A CASE OF MURDER, BUT A FALL”

Following the complainants, the defendants requested their release in their final defense. Cemil Koç, the detained defendant who was last promised to make his defense, stated that he had been saying the same things since his statement to the prosecutor's office and said, "He fell down the stairs after using drugs. I performed heart massage. I performed artificial respiration. I request an expert report on the pressure mark caused by the heart massage. My DNA sample was not found on Ayşe's clothes. There is no trace of me on her nails. The indispensable evidence of murder cases is nails. This incident is not murder, it is a fall." While the defendant Cemil Koç was making his defense in SEGBİS, Ayşe Tokyaz's mother cried in the courtroom, shouting and saying, "Enough of your slander, I am a mother. I couldn't even experience my daughter's pain."
