Robbery Attempt in Izmir: Suspect Took 5 Employees Hostage

The robbery attempt took place at the branch of the private bank on İnönü Street at around 16.30.

According to the statement made by the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, C.A. The suspect named took the gun belonging to the private security guard and took 5 employees of the bank hostage.

Upon notice, security measures were taken in the surrounding area and negotiation and special operations teams were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the work of the teams, the bank employees were rescued safely and the suspect was taken into custody.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that an investigation was launched into the incident and that 2 deputy chief public prosecutors and 2 public prosecutors were assigned to conduct the investigation.
