Italy wins against Greece at the 2026 men's volleyball European Championships

After the winning debut with Sweden, another victory arrives for the Azzurri at the European men's volleyball championships. Ferdinando De Giorgi's team beat Greece in three sets with scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-16 (THE STORY ON SKY SPORT). The story of the match

First point-for-point set with an excellent Greece team. For the Azzurri 15 points in attack and 2 in blocks, and the first half ends 25-23 after 38 minutes. Even in the second set at the PalaPanini in Modena the battle is close: the final score is still 25-23 for Italy, but Greece remains ahead until 21-19 when De Giorgi's team changes pace and comes back to win. In the third set, however, the pace is different and as the minutes pass, the Azzurri widen their lead more and more, closing 25-16.
