Equivalence Certificate Will Be Given to Students in Intermediate Classes of Foreign Schools Without Permission

It is essential that education and training activities in Türkiye are carried out in line with the relevant legislation and under the permission and supervision of the Ministry. In this context, the equivalence procedures of students studying in the primary and secondary education levels of foreign schools operating without the necessary permits are evaluated within the framework of the provisions of the current legislation. Within the scope of current practice, equivalence certificates could not be issued on behalf of students who studied in intermediate classes of foreign schools operating without permission in Türkiye or who graduated from these schools. The Ministry has made arrangements for the transition process in order to ensure that students studying in intermediate classes of foreign schools operating without permission have access to the right to education, to avoid interruptions in their education processes and to prevent grievances that may arise from their current situation, in case they leave these schools and want to continue their education in Turkish schools. APPLICATIONS CAN BE MADE UNTIL DECEMBER 31. In this context, students who leave the intermediate classes of the schools in question and apply to continue their education in public or private Turkish schools affiliated with the Ministry of Education will be given an equivalence certificate. Students who want to obtain a certificate will be able to apply for equivalence with their parents until 17.00 on December 31, 2026. On the other hand, the equivalence certificates to be issued will not mean the recognition of foreign schools operating without permission or the acceptance of the activities of these schools as legal. The aim of the application is to enable students to transfer to public or private Turkish schools affiliated with the Ministry and to continue their education without interruption.
