İZKITAP is preparing to bring book lovers together in the center of Izmir once again in the autumn. At the fair, where approximately 200 participants will participate, nearly 400 writers, poets, journalists, academics and artists will come together with readers. İZKITAP, which will open its doors on September 19, will transform Kültürpark into the meeting point of literature with interviews, autograph sessions and different events until September 27.
Approximately 500 events, including nearly 50 talks and autograph sessions, will be held over nine days.
GÜNDÜZ VASSAF IS GUEST OF HONOR OF İZKİTAP
This year's guest of honor of İZKITAP will be psychologist, writer and academician Gündüz Vassaf. Known for his works such as "Ode to Hell", "The Bottom of Heaven", "My Mother, My Father and Other Deadly Things" and "The Man Without a Country", Vassaf will meet with his readers in a special interview to be held on September 20. Fair; It will bring together publishing houses, second-hand booksellers, non-governmental organizations, media organizations and cultural institutions under the same roof and will offer a program for different age and interest groups. Within the scope of the program, which extends from literature to thought, from history to children's and youth publishing, visitors will have the opportunity to discover new books and publishing houses while meeting with their favorite authors.

This year's signature program of İZKITAP includes many valuable names from literature, journalism, thought, art and children's literature.

Rıfat Esen will hold a signing event on 19-20 September, Ahmet Gürel on 19-20 September, Ahmet Gülen on 19 September, Bekir Yurdakul on 20-22-24 September. Mehmet Emin Ekmacı will meet with his readers on September 25, Halil Genç on September 26, Günver Güneş and Mustafa Balbay on September 27.
EXHIBITION TIME WITH THE BOOK AT KÜLTÜRPARK
In addition to its book and literature program, İZKITAP also attracts attention with its exhibitions hosted by Kültürpark. During the fair, the "ROMANTICA / Journey of a Lifetime" exhibition can be visited at the Atlas Pavilion. The life of Nâzım Hikmet is in the exhibition hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and prepared with the contributions of Folkart; It is discussed with archive documents, manuscripts, personal belongings, photographs and works from different art disciplines.
The "Kültürpark is 90 Years Old" exhibition, which tells the history of Kültürpark, will host its visitors in the Pakistan Pavilion, and the "Towards the Opening" exhibition, which is about the establishment process of the Izmir Culinary Museum, will host its visitors in the old Göl Casino. "Stops of Art - Hüseyin Terzioğlu Collection" at Mehmet Tüzüm Kızılcan Art Gallery can be seen in the first three days of İZKITAP.
A MEETING WITH LITERATURE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH
İZKITAP will also offer an environment where children and young people can meet books more closely. Students coming to the fair from schools across the city will participate in interviews and signing events with their teachers; will be able to examine publications of different publishing houses together.
Izmir City Library, operating within the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, will also meet with readers at İZKITAP with its new publications, interviews and signing days. Publications covering the city's history, cultural heritage, nature and daily life will be one of the important stops of the fair. İZKITAP can be visited at Kültürpark every day between 19-27 September between 10.00 - 20.00. Entrance to the fair will be free.
İZKITAP AND INTERNATIONAL İZMİR LITERATURE FESTIVAL IN THE SAME PERIOD
Along with İZKITAP, another important meeting will take place in İzmir's literary calendar. The International Izmir Literature Festival, which will be held for the 10th time this year with the theme "Literature Heals", will be held at Kültürpark and Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center between 24-27 September. The festival will bring together writers, poets, thinkers and artists from Turkey and different countries of the world in Izmir. Guests of honor will be Alberto Manguel and Zülfü Livaneli.
