Jürgen Klopp's decision on Sane and Nübel

The candidate squad for the Germany National Team, which will face Serbia and the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League, has been announced. While coach Jürgen Klopp invited Beşiktaş' goalkeeper Alexander Nübel to the squad, he did not invite Galatasaray football player Leroy Sane.

Niclas Füllkrug, who played for Werder Bremen and was at the top of the Bundesliga top scorer race by scoring 9 times this season, returned to the national team after a long break. Klopp also included Borussia Mönchengladbach's young player Wael Mohya in the A National Team squad for the first time.

Jürgen Klopp said the following in an interview with DFB TV after announcing the candidate squad:

"I'm really looking forward to the next two games. We have a diverse mix of very young and very experienced players in our squad. After the 44-man squad in September, it was difficult to make that selection because - and this is actually good news - more players deserved to be in the squad. But that's the way it should be. The more quality players you have, the more difficult the decisions you have to make, in a positive sense."
