Cable fire causes power outage at Mainz University Hospital

A cable fire caused a major power outage in the University Medical Center building in Mainz. The entire University Medical Center site was briefly without power in the late afternoon and had to be switched to emergency power, as a spokesman for the fire department said when asked by dpa. A statement from the fire department also said that patient care was not at risk.

According to the information, no new patients are currently being admitted to the university clinic. This also applies to the central emergency room. Two pregnant women were taken to another hospital as a precaution, the spokesman said. According to him, a total of 80 emergency services are on site.
