Actor Serhat Mustafa Kılıç was found dead in his home in Kağıthane.

In Kağıthane, actor Serhat Mustafa Kılıç (51) was found dead in his home by his girlfriend who had not heard from him. An investigation has been launched into the death of Kılıç, whose girlfriend stated that he had lymph cancer.

The incident took place around 17:00 in Nurtepe District. According to the information obtained, his girlfriend Özlem E. (50), who had not heard from actor Serhat Kılıç since Thursday, came to the house where Kılıç lived. When Özlem E. knocked on the door and did not receive an answer, she entered Kılıç's house, fearing for her life, by opening the door with the key she had.

HE FOUND IT STILL ON THE SOFA IN THE LIVING ROOM.

Özlem E. found Kılıç motionless, sitting on the sofa in the living room. Realizing that Kılıç was not breathing and his body was cold, Özlem E. called the 112 Emergency Call Center and asked for help. Upon notice, Kağıthane Public Order Bureau teams and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Upon check-up by medical teams, it was determined that Kılıç had died.

HE STATED THAT HE HAD LYMPH CANCER

Özlem E., whose information was contacted by the police, said that her boyfriend Kılıç had lymph cancer and that she had not heard from him since Thursday. Police teams initiated an investigation into Kılıç's death by informing the relevant units about the incident.

Kılıç was remembered with the character of Ergun Plak in the TV series Seksenler.

WHO IS SERHAT MUSTAFA KILIÇ?

Serhat Mustafa Kılıç was born on July 8, 1975 in Ankara. He is originally from Malatya. He spent his childhood in Ankara.

In 1994, he received a scholarship from Bilkent University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Department of Theatre. He graduated from this school in 1998 as a high honor student. His first professional play was Ariel Doffman's The Lost (Widows) in 1998, directed by Rutkay Aziz, at the Ankara Art Theatre.

He worked at Diyarbakır State Theater in the 1999 - 2000 season. In the same years, he gave stage and acting lessons at Diyarbakır City Theaters and directed the play Peace Island at this institution. In 2002, he was appointed as an actor to Erzurum State Theater to complete his compulsory service. In 2005, he completed his master's degree on Direction at Hacettepe University State Conservatory and started teaching as a lecturer at Erzurum Atatürk University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Theatre. In 2008, he resigned from his position at the State Theaters and started to continue his work in Istanbul.

Among the theaters he worked in Istanbul are theaters such as Theater Dot and BKM. He participated in Istanbul City Theaters in the 2009 - 2010 season with the play "General Rehearsal of Suicide". The play "General Rehearsal of Suicide" was staged at the Istanbul City Theater as a sold-out crowd for 3 seasons.

Serhat Kılıç was nominated for the Most Successful Musical and Comedy Actor of the Year category at the 14th Afife Theater Awards with his performance in this play, in which he portrayed four different characters. In 2012, he founded a production company called Cats&Dogs (Soho Istanbul). In 2014, he played the character of İmam Hamdi in the movie Winter Sleep directed by Nuri Bilge CEYLAN, which won the Cannes Film Festival Golden Palm Award. For his performance in this film, he was nominated for the 47th SİYAD Awards, Best Supporting Actor Performance.
