ALTAYLI WAS ARRESTED
The re-investigation into the death of former MİT officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu, who died in Silivri Prison in 2011, continues.
In the restarted investigation into Kozinoğlu's death in prison, Enver Altaylı, who was convicted in another case, was brought to Silivri Courthouse to take his statement.
Enver Altaylı, whose statement was taken, was arrested on the charge of 'intentional incitement to murder'.
INFORMATION WILL BE APPLIED TO "KAŞİFOĞLU"
On the other hand, it was learned that actor Sedat Savtak, who plays the character "Kazım Kaşifoğlu" in the TV series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, will testify to the prosecutor's office at the Silivri Courthouse as "informed".
"ÖMER BABA" STATED
Emin Olcay, the actor of the Kurtlar Vadisi TV series, testified as a "witness" within the scope of the restarted investigation into the death of former National Intelligence Organization (MİT) officer Kaşif Kozinoğlu in prison.
'I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY RIGHT NOW'
Speaking at the entrance of the courthouse, actor Emin Olcay said, "I have nothing to say right now, you know. Let's meet with the prosecutor, then.
I don't think I can tell you anything, let me tell you that. I'm not in a position to say anything else. "Let me just give my statement, then we will meet with you if we are available," he said.
THE INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN RESTITUTED
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek, in his statement on his NSosyal account, reminded that Kozinoğlu fell ill in Silivri No. 1 L Type Closed Penitentiary Institution, where he was detained, on November 12, 2011, and was referred to Silivri State Hospital.
Gürlek stated that Kozinoğlu was found to have died when he was taken to the hospital, and noted that camera records and medical documents were examined after the incident, and witness statements were taken from the penal institution, gendarmerie and medical personnel, his ward mates and Kozinoğlu's wife. Minister Gürlek stated that on April 10, 2012, it was decided that there was no need for prosecution.
Stating that the file was re-examined by the Unsolved Crimes Investigation Department, Gürlek announced that, in line with the evaluations made by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the decision of non-prosecution was lifted and the investigation was restarted with the decision of the Silivri Criminal Judgeship of Peace dated 26 August 2026.
Gürlek stated that a confidentiality decision was taken within the scope of the new investigation, a special investigation team was formed and comprehensive studies were initiated to shed light on all aspects of the incident. Stating that judicial proceedings were initiated against 11 suspects who were working in the penal institution on the date of the incident, Gürlek noted that 10 suspects were taken into custody and one suspect was found to be abroad as a FETO fugitive.
1 SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED DURING THE FIRST DETENTIONS
While 1 of the 10 suspects detained within the scope of the investigation was arrested, 9 of them were released, 7 of them on condition of judicial control.
As part of the work carried out, 9 more suspects, including 1 reporter, 1 cameraman and 7 healthcare workers, were detained. Three of the suspects, whose statements were taken at the prosecutor's office, were sent to the judgeship with a request for their arrest. Judicial control was requested for 3 suspects, including the cameraman, in the form of a "ban on going abroad" and "signing", and for the other 3 suspects, in the form of a "ban on going abroad".
The judgeship decided to arrest 3 suspects, including the reporter, and to impose judicial control measures on 6 suspects, including the cameraman.
FETHI KABIR PROCESS WAS CARRIED OUT
Upon the request of the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a burial process was carried out in order to determine the exact cause of Kozinoğlu's death and whether there was any third party involvement in his death.
Within the scope of the investigation, the scriptwriters of the Kurtlar Vadisi TV series, Raci Şaşmaz, Bahadır Özdener and Cüneyt Aysan, testified to the prosecutor's office as "informed". The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office also decided to examine the Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu series.
THE CURRENT PROSECUTOR AND THE PRISON PROSECUTOR WERE ALSO TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
Within the scope of the investigation, Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor Ali İşgören, prison prosecutor Necip Doğan, and Kozinoğlu's cellmates, retired Naval Captain Hasan Ataman Yıldırım and Gendarmerie Colonel Hasan Atilla Uğur, who were on duty at the time of the incident, were also detained.
The judgeship, which decided to arrest Doğan and İşgören, who were referred to Silivri Courthouse, ruled to impose judicial control measures in the form of house arrest on Ataman and Uğur.
Following these developments, the number of detainees within the scope of the investigation increased to 6 and the number of suspects against whom judicial control measures were taken increased to 15.
OSMAN ARSLAN WAS ARRESTED
As part of the ongoing work, former journalist Osman Arslan, ambulance driver Süleyman Kaba, then-prison director Ömer Vatan and then-shift chief Kazım Beyke were also detained.
Ambulance driver Kaba was released after his statement to the gendarmerie, taking into account the current state of evidence.
After Arslan, Vatan and Beyke's procedures at the gendarmerie were completed, health checks were carried out and the suspects were referred to Silivri Courthouse. The prosecutor's office requested the arrest of Arslan and the release of Vatan and Beyke on condition of judicial control.
The judge ruled that Arslan be arrested on charges of "being a member of an organization established for the purpose of committing a crime" and "disclosing prohibited information for the purpose of political or military espionage". It was decided to impose a judicial control measure in the form of a "ban on traveling abroad" against Vatan and Beyke.
